Each legal workplace is unique and requires tailored support to build a psychologically healthy and inclusive culture. Culture First: Well Within the Law is now a core service of Law Society Psychological Services, designed to guide legal workplaces in shaping positive, sustainable workplace cultures.
We work directly with legal workplaces to identify the most suitable process and level of support.
Workplace Culture – what is it?
A healthy culture is one in which everyone feels valued, supported, and enabled to thrive. It is an environment designed to support people with the demands of legal practice.

How Culture First: Well Within the Law Works
Culture First: Well Within the Law is a structured programme that assesses cultural strengths and gaps, while gathering fresh ideas from across legal workplaces. Steps may include:
- Culture and wellbeing surveys;
- In-depth focus groups;
- One to one leadership consultations;
- Co-creation of a Culture First: Well Within the Law strategy;
Participating workplaces will have access to a bespoke suite of resources, including:
- bespoke learning and development offerings - delivered at participating legal workplaces
- tailored toolkits
- online on demand content hosted on a Professional Wellbeing Hub
Successful completion of this programme leads to the award of a Law Society Culture First Chartership.
Subsidised Fees
Law Society Psychological Services are committed to making this support accessible. Significantly subsidised fees apply to Irish based legal workplaces.
