New District Court Rules - 1999
District Court (Discovery of Documents) Rules
(SI No. 285 of 1999)Practitioners should note the introduction of new District Court Rules (Order 46A) to regulate and expand the procedure of discovery in the District Court. The Rules set out the procedure to be followed to obtain discovery, the sanction for failure to comply with an order for discovery and the costs which the court may award in both circumstances. The Rules are operative from 27th September, 1999.
District Court (Affidavits) Rules
(SI No. 286 of 1999)New Rules have been introduced to amend Order 9 of the District Court Rules, 1997 to allow a practising solicitor sign an Affidavit for use in the District Court. The new Rules are operative from 27th September, 1999.
