Aim and Objectives
The aims and objectives of this seminar are to provide practitioners with guidance on how to attract and retain trainees and qualified legal practitioners. Speakers will explain the flexible nature of training contracts, and the hybrid Professional Practice Course. How a trainee can work and learn and how firms can offer alternative approaches to training. In addition, attendees will be advised on how to attract and interview potential employees and how subsequently to retain them

This seminar is suitable for: all practitioners seeking to recruit legal staff at the trainee and qualified level. It will assist firms seeking to expand or seeking to succession plan. The seminar is particularly relevant for small to medium sized firms.

Rory is a solicitor and the Head of the Professional Practice Course (PPC), Law Society of Ireland

John Macklin
John has almost 20 years experience in legal recruitment where he and his team source partners and lawyers for firms of all sizes throughout Ireland.  John received his law degree from Trinity College Dublin and his Masters in Commercial Law from UCD before qualifying as a lawyer in New York in 2003.  He also completed an MBA in Trinity College in 2008.

Michelle Cross
Michelle is a newly qualified Solicitor from JWO’Donovan Solicitors and a member of the SLA Traineeship Committee.
