Growth mode CKT merges with litigation practice

Leading law firm Comyn Kelleher Tobin (CKT) has announced its acquisition of well-known litigation practice Jim Eustace and Company.

The merger is part of CKT’s strategy for growth in Dublin, which includes relocation to new office space in the city centre. Four new solicitors are also joining the firm.

The firm’s new Dublin offices are in Smithfield, Dublin 7, relocating from Ormond Quay. This merger cements CKT — listed in the top 25 in Ireland — as a leading Irish defence litigation practice. The firm, which employs over 60 people between its offices in Cork and Dublin, already has one of the largest healthcare legal teams in Ireland.

Milestone

CKT managing partner Deborah Moore said the acquisition and relocation mark a significant milestone for the firm. “This is a new chapter in CKT’s history — complementing our existing business while bolstering our firm and its presence in Dublin.

“This strengthens our team in the areas of health, child welfare and litigation,” she said.

CKT represents regional, national, and international clients across the legal spectrum, with services also including commercial, construction, corporate, data protection & GDPR, education, employment, maritime, professional indemnity, property, and public law.

The firm works with a number of large public sector organisations, such as the Health Service Executive (HSE), Tusla, and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).

It was established in 1981, and its offices are located at 2 George’s Quay, Cork, and Lincoln Lane, Smithfield, Dublin 7.
