How ICC tackles genocide and war crimes

Dr Bogdan Chirițoiu, chair of the Romanian Competition Council, will deliver a guest lecture at Queen’s University in Belfast, on 19 March at twelve pm.

He will speak on the latest developments in competition case law at the School of Law moot court.

Anniversary

Meanwhile, the Summer School of the International Criminal Court is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

The 24-28 June summer school is organised by the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland Galway and takes place on college grounds.

The International Criminal Court is at the forefront of a broader movement for achieving international criminal law accountability for atrocities.

This interactive course is suited to postgraduate students, legal professionals, scholars and NGO workers. Participants will leave with a detailed working knowledge of the establishment of the court, its structures and operations and the applicable law.

Fair trial rights

Lectures also speak on related issues in international criminal law including genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, the crime of aggression, jurisdiction, fair trial rights and the rules of procedure and evidence.
