Expert speakers scheduled for family law conference
A timely and highly practical family law conference is scheduled for one week before the upcoming referendum on divorce.
The half-day Bloomsbury Professional Irish Family Law conference will take place from 8:30am-1:30pm on Friday 17 May, at Chartered Accountants House, Pearse Street, Dublin 2.
A range of speakers will cover key developments in legislation and case law in the Superior Courts including an in-depth look at the Domestic Violence Act 2018 by family law solicitor Keith Walsh.
Spousal support
The financial aspects of family law cases will also be examined, including spousal support, valuing assets, identifying hidden assets and pension adjustment orders.
Minister Josepha Madigan (pictured) will give the opening address, speaking on the divorce referendum and family law reform.
Senior counsel Gerard Durcan will examine recent important cases in family and child law in the Superior Courts.
Barrister Sonya Dixon will examine “The Voice of the Child” and section 32 reports.
Forensic accountant
Forensic accountant Tom Murray will examine his profession’s use in family law while actuary Olga Daly will discuss pensions and family law including British pensions within Irish cases.
