IronLaw go head-to-head on land and water

The IronLaw legal triathlon kicked off early this morning in Co Leitrim, pitting lawyers from north and south of the border against each other.

The hard-fought contest has resulted in a swimming victory for the Republic’s competitor Ivan Feran over the North’s Peter Jack.

The pair swam 3.86km, before handing the baton to former Law Society of Ireland President Stuart Gilhooly (South), and Darren Toombs (North) who are undertaking a gruelling 180km cycle.

The triathlon will conclude with a marathon from Maynooth to Blackhall Place, with Brian McMullin up against the North’s Adam Wood.

Home turf

Loyal supporters will be on hand to cheer the  ‘Men of Iron’ back on to home turf.

All monies raised from the charity event will go to the Solicitors’ Benevolent Association.

Donations may be made by contacting Stuart at stuart.gilhooly@hjward.ie, Brian at bmcmullin@brianjmcmullin.com, or Ivan at ivanferan@feran.ie.

Well done to all concerned.
