WRC inspections on agenda at Blackhall seminar

Employment law specialist Anne O’Connell has been confirmed as a speaker at the Law Society annual update on the topic, which takes place on 26 September at the Green Hall in Blackhall Place.

The seminar, presented by the Employment Law Committee in collaboration with Law Society Professional Training, will provide practitioners with an update on recent changes to areas of employment law, practice and procedure.

Employment law

Anne O’Connell practised employment law in various firms including the Chief State Solicitors Office, two top tier Irish law firms and in a small firm. In February 2017, she set up her own boutique employment law firm in Dublin.

Anne is on the Law Society of Ireland’s Employment Law Committee and the Employment Law Association of Ireland’s Committee. She is also a member of the Employment Law Section of the International Bar Association.

Implications

This year’s seminar will include a panel discussion on WRC inspections and the practical implications. Panellists will include members of the WRC and leading employment law practitioners.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Workplace investigations: avoiding the pitfalls,
  • When the WRC comes calling: a briefing from the WRC – a demonstration by employers of employment-law compliance during inspections/panel discussion,
  • Demystifying the transfer of undertakings regulations.

Speakers include ByrneWallace, Dublin partner Loughlin Deegan who advises clients across the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters and Hayes Solicitors’ Dublin employment partner Breda O’Malley who is recognised as one of Ireland’s leading advisers in the area of the transfer of undertaking regulations (TUPE).

The 2-5.30pm seminar cost is €186  and booking details are available here.
