Death of Mr Justice Richard Johnson

The former President of the High Court, Mr Justice Richard Johnson, has died aged 81.

The late judge will be laid out at his home in Dublin tomorrow from 5-7pm.

Requiem

Removal on Thursday for 11.30am requiem Mass at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook, Dublin 4 with burial afterwards in Bohernabreena Cemetery, Co Dublin.

Mr Justice Richard Johnson was born in Tralee, Co Kerry where his father was a district court judge. He studied law at UCD.

He qualified as a barrister in 1960. He practised on the South Western Circuit (Kerry, Limerick and Clare) until he became a senior counsel in 1977.

He was appointed to the High Court in 1987.

May he rest in peace.
