Room at the top – mentor offer for women solicitors

The Law Society is offering a new mentoring programme to support women who want to progress their careers as solicitors.

The redesigned Women in Leadership Mentoring Programme is for women who wish to advance their careers to a more senior level.

Applications are now invited from female solicitors, who have been practising for at least five years and who would like to be mentored by more senior colleagues in progressing their careers.

To be considered you must:

  • Aspire to reach a senior level in your career,
  • Have at least five years’ PQE,
  • Submit your expression of interest form by Friday 30 August,
  • Be available for training in Blackhall Place on the dates on the form.

To find out more about the programme, see a testimonial from recent participant Audrey O’Sullivan.

Best practice

Applicants will be invited to take part in training in best-practice mentoring techniques at Blackhall Place. Training will be eligible for CPD points.

Following this, they will be matched with a suitable mentoring partner.

Please note that it may not be possible to match all applicants.

Once matched, mentoring partners generally commit to meet once a month over the course of the year.

During this time, they will have the opportunity to meet other participants at networking events (held in conjunction with the Bar of Ireland).

Queries about the programme should be addressed to Judith Tedders at j.tedders@lawsociety.ie.
