Ex-Trinity academic is now Oxford migration professor

A former director of the Irish Centre for European Law (ICEL) has been appointed as the Andrew W Mellon Professor of Refugee and Migration Law at the University of Oxford.

Legal academic Professor Cathryn Costello is an expert on international and European refugee and migration law. She leads an interdisciplinary team at the Refugee Studies Centre (RSC) at Oxford.

 

Prof Costello’s areas of expertise are refugee recognition and the global governance of refugee mobility.

Formerly an academic at Trinity College, Prof Costello was subsequently appointed Francis Reynolds Fellow and tutor in EU and Public Law at Worcester College, Oxford.

She is also a visiting professor at the University of Oslo.
