Corporate and M&A partner announced at William Fry

William Fry has announced Brian Butterwick (pictured) as a new partner in its corporate and M&A department. 

The appointment follows the lateral partner hires of Lyn Brennan (banking and finance), Ian Devlin (employment and benefits), and John Aherne (asset management and investment funds.

Brian joins William Fry from the London office of international firm Shearman & Sterling, where he has worked for the last five years.

Mergers

He has significant experience in advising clients on public and private mergers, as well as acquisitions and joint ventures, with a particular focus on cross-border transactions. He has also represented both issuers and underwriters in IPOs and secondary equity offerings. 

Prior to Shearman & Sterling, Brian worked at Norton Rose Fulbright for over seven years.
