Fieldfisher doubles size of Belfast Legal Solutions Hub
European law firm Fieldfisher is taking an additional 3,000 square foot of office space in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter.
It also plans to add a further 38 roles to its specialist team to support Fieldfisher's international offices.
Lease signed
The firm has signed a lease with the landlords Robinson Family Ltd to double its existing 3,000-foot two-floor offices.
Fieldfisher opened its Legal Solutions Hub, which provides legal support for its 25 offices in the UK, Europe, China and California, in August 2018.
It has already grown the headcount substantially, from eight to 40.
Growth
The planned growth will range across legal services as well as anti-money laundering, secretarial, IT and legal tech functions.
The firm is currently recruiting for 15 new roles in Belfast and aims to increase its Belfast cohort to 125 over the next two years.
It has had a presence in Belfast since late 2017, when it merged with Holywood, north Down-based DLC, which currently employs 28 people.
Managing partner Michael Chissick (pictured) said "We are delighted to be expanding our Belfast footprint as we continue to invest in our legal solutions offering, which has been enthusiastically adopted by our clients worldwide.
"Having recently celebrated the Belfast Legal Solutions Hub's first birthday, Fieldfisher is proud to reinforce its commitment to the city.
Talent pool
He said he looked forward to taking advantage of the city's rich talent pool to grow the Hub.
Fieldfisher is a European law firm with 1,550 people working across 25 offices in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Beijing, Belfast, Birmingham, Bologna, Brussels, Dublin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Guangzhou, Hamburg, London, Luxembourg, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Paris, Rome, Shanghai, Turin, Venice and Silicon Valley.
Fieldfisher was named as a highly commended firm by FT Innovative Lawyers Awards this year.
