Dechert moves to landmark  Dublin 2 office

Global law firm Dechert LLP is expanding into a larger office in Dublin as the firm continues its growth trajectory in the Irish capital in response to increased client demand.

From next week, Dechert’s Dublin office will be an 8,600 square foot space at 5 Earlsfort Terrace, a landmark Grade A office development overlooking the iconic National Concert Hall.

Capability

Dechert was the first major US firm to open an office in Dublin and has been steadily growing its capability since 2010, with new senior hires in 2019 including Carol Widger who joined in January as managing partner, and Ciara O’Leary who joined the practice in September 2019, adding to the firm’s 200 lawyer-strong global financial services and investment management practice.

Dechert remains the only major global law firm with a funds practice that spans the key European funds domiciles as well as the US, Middle East and Asia, offering jurisdiction-neutral advice.

Dechert’s Dublin practice focuses on providing asset managers with full scope support in the operation of their investment products and investment management activities.

Committed

Managing partner Carol Widger says “Dechert is committed to the Dublin market and our investment in new office space reflects the significant increase in client demand we’ve experienced over the last few years and is also a clear indication of our planned future growth to continue to meet the needs of our clients who value the global footprint of an international service offering.

Dechert acts for 24 of the 25 largest global asset management firms and 41 of the top 50 private debt firms.

Dechert now has 26 offices around the world.
