Deirdre Burke merges her practice with Orpen Franks

Leading family Lawyer Deirdre Burke has joined forces with one of Ireland’s oldest leading law firms, Orpen Franks, to set up a new family law department at the Dublin 4 firm.

“We’ve been in business for over 200 years and have built a reputation for excellence in corporate, commercial and private law, as well as medical and professional negligence,” says Peter Walsh, managing partner at Orpen Franks.

“To meet the demands of our clients, we have wanted to expand into family law for some time, but it was a question of finding the right match.”

“So, we are delighted that Deirdre Burke, formerly of Burke Legal, has merged her practice into ours. Deirdre deservedly won Family Lawyer of the Year 2019 and is an acknowledged expert in her field. She is a perfect match for the standard of service we offer here at Orpen Franks.”

Deirdre has been practicing in the Wicklow and Dublin areas for 25 years.

“The formalities are now complete and I am looking forward to offering legal support in separation, divorce and other family law cases for Orpen Franks new and existing clients,” she said.

Existing clients

Deirdre is keeping her existing clients in the Dublin and Wicklow areas who will now also have access to a wider range of legal support from her new legal partners.

Deirdre will continue to run her office in Wicklow town as well as working from the Orpen Franks office in Burlington Road.

Described as “decisive, supportive, and perceptive”, Deirdre is a member of the Family Lawyers Association, and a member of the Family Law Committee of the Law Society.

Her legal awards include Family Lawyer of the Year 2019 and Sole Practitioner of the Year 2018. Deirdre is a trained Family Law Mediator and a regular commentator on family law issues on radio and TV.

History

Orpen Franks' history dates back to the mid-1800s and has recently incorporated other legal firms, including Tweedy & Co Solicitors, Reeves Solicitors, and Montgomery and Chaytor Solicitors.

In 2015, they added medical negligence and a more specialist probate and trusts expertise to the firm.
