Go ahead for giant Amazon data centre in Co Louth

A 28,573 sq metre Co Louth data centre for tech giant Amazon has been granted conditional planning permission.

The data centre will create construction jobs for up to 400 people at the IDA Business and Technology Park, Donore Road, Drogheda.

25-metres high

The two-storey construction will rise to 25 metres high and will include a mezzanine level, on a 19.5-acre site.

Outline planning includes road layout and site entrance alteration, 26 emergency generators, an electricity substation, and water-storage tanks.

An environmental impact assessment projection expects building to begin in Q2 this year, with the data centre up and running by 2023.
