All insolvency cases will be deferred during virus crisis

High Court president Mr Justice Peter Kelly has issued a practice direction clarifying the situation on insolvency during the COVID-19 crisis.

Protective certificates

As of 2 April, all applications for protective certificates (those already lodged and those to be lodged) will be deferred unless the personal insolvency practitioner in each case notifies the central office of the High Court by email that the application is urgent.

A brief explanation of the circumstances which make the application urgent  should be provided. The direction is available to read on the Courts Service website.
