Webinar on emergency powers’ effect on homeless

Mercy Law Resource Centre (MLRC) has said it sees an increasing need for accurate and accessible legal advice, information and representation for those in or facing housing crisis, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The housing charity has received many queries related to emergency legislation introduced in response to COVID-19.

Volunteers

As a result, MLRC is providing training on the Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (Covid-19) Act 2020 to staff and volunteers of organisations working in the field of housing and homelessness.

The organisation is holding a recorded webinar entitled ‘The legal implications for housing and homelessness of the Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (Covid-19) Act 2020’ next Thursday, 11 June, at noon.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.

Speakers

The speakers include:

  • Nóra Ní Lionsigh BL,
  • Rebecca Keatinge, managing solicitor, MLRC,
  • Paul Dornan, solicitor, MLRC,
  • Sinead McGarrigle, solicitor, MLRC.

The webinar will be free to attend but donations for MLRC work are most welcome.
