Solicitor elected president of trade mark body

FRKelly partner Shane Smyth is the new president of the Association of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys (APTMA) in Ireland.

This position will run for a three-year term.

APTMA Ireland represents and protects the interests of trade mark, patent, and design professionals in Ireland.

Mr Smyth, a registered trade mark and patent attorney as well as a qualified solicitor, was formerly managing partner at IP specialists FRKelly.

He is also a past president of the Irish chapter of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).
