Success for Blackhall team at global contest

A Blackhall Place Law School team has come third in the 26th annual Stetson International Environmental Moot Court competition, held over the weekend (8-10 April) in Florida.

Competitors Lauren Keogh (Arthur Cox), Ciara Dinneny (Michael J Staines & Co), and Helen Ryan (Matheson) were coached by Law School director TP Kennedy.

The Law Society representatives got through the first three rounds to the quarter-final, and then on to the semi-final, taking third place in the competition overall, at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida.

Written-arguments prize

The team also scooped the prize for third-place for written arguments.

The Blackhall team faced competitors from Singapore Management University in the semi-final.

On the way, they defeated the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and met North American champions, the University of Saint Thomas (Canada), in the quarter-final.

Round two saw the Irish team up against Illinois College of Law.

Congratulations to all involved!
