Ireland for Law at two New York events

Ireland for Law is participating in two upcoming events with the New York State Bar Association and Arbitration Ireland New York Chapter.

Both events are free, but pre-registration is required.

The Arbitration Ireland event takes place at the Norton Rose Fulbright offices on 1301 6th Ave, New York, on Wednesday, 14 September, starting at 5.30pm.

The speakers include:

  • Judge Richard J Sullivan (United States Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit),
  • Mr Justice David Barniville (President of the High Court),
  • Nicola Dunleavy (Matheson partner, president of Arbitration Ireland),
  • Thomas W Walsh (arbitration partner at Freshfields, New York),
  • Kevin O'Gorman (head of arbitration, US and partner-in-charge, Houston).

Brexit implications

The New York State Bar Association event is the following day, 15 September, also at 5.30pm. It takes place at Moses & Singer LLP, The Chrysler Building, 405 Lexington Avenue, New York.

This event aims to raise awareness among legal firms and market participants of the implications of Brexit for lawyers, and commercial dispute-resolution in the Irish courts.

The speakers include:

  • Mr Justice David Barniville (President of the High Court),
  • Howard Fischer (partner at Moses and Singer LLP),
  • Eve Mulconry (partner at Arthur Cox LLP),
  • Paul McGarry SC (Bar of Ireland).

Ireland for Law was set up to promote Irish law and legal services to the international business community.
