Diploma Centre welcomes solicitors to CPD conference

The Law Society Diploma Centre welcomed solicitors recently to its annual CPD bonus conference. The online conference, now in its ninth year, is complimentary and was open to solicitors who had studied with the Diploma Centre in 2022.

The November event offered an opportunity to fulfil the Management and Professional Development Skills and Regulatory CPD requirements of six hours for 2022.

A diverse range of topics was covered, and there were lively interactions on the day. Sessions included ethics and professional conduct, with a focus on the fourth edition of the Solicitor’s Guide to Professional Conduct, digital marketing for solicitors, behavioural change for lawyers, anti-money laundering, and negotiating skills in the workplace.

Expert speakers included:

  • Justine Carty (solicitor with the Property Registration Authority, and Law Society Council member),
  • Cormac Little SC (partner, William Fry partner),
  • Lorraine Rooney (general counsel, and product head at Goodbody Fund Management),
  • Mary Cloonan (marketing advisor),
  • Henry Hely Hutchinson (MD, Hely Hutchinson Training), and
  • Dr Heather McKee (behaviour change specialist).

Eligible solicitors are now offered the opportunity to view the recorded conference on playback before 31 December 2022.
