Kerida Naidoo to become High Court judge

The Government has agreed to nominate senior counsel Kerida Naidoo as a judge of the High Court.

The vacancy arose following the implementation of section 8 of the Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2021 which increases the complement of High Court judges.

A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, Naidoo was called to the Bar in 1995 and to the Inner Bar in 2015.

The Government has taken the necessary steps to formally advise President Higgins of the nomination in accordance with constitutional practice.
