Comparative perspectives on arbitration in New York

The Law Society Arbitration Committee, together with the New York State Bar Association’s international section and the Irish American Bar Association of New York, will jointly host a webinar where the panellists will compare and contrast the legal frameworks for international arbitration in Ireland and New York.

The event will take place on Tuesday 19 July at 6pm Irish time.

The discussion will include each jurisdiction’s laws on arbitration, various discovery and disclosure set-ups, and the enforcement of awards.

Panellists

The panellists are:

  • Karen Killoran (partner at Arthur Cox LLP in Dublin),
  • Dana MacGrath (arbitrator based in New York and President of Arbitral Women),
  • Michael Carrigan, (arbitrator and an expert witness based in Dublin), and,
  • Eoin Moynihan, (international arbitration practitioner from Ireland, based in New York and Washington DC).

The moderator will be Edward K. Lenci, a partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in New York, an arbitrator, and immediate past chair of the NYSBA international section.

Irish lawyers, when registering, should click on  ‘I'm an attorney’ or ‘I'm someone else’ to fill in the form, and create a free account on the NYSBA site.

Irish solicitors may register for the webinar for free using the discount code LSI22.
