Employment law masterclass for solicitors

Law Society Skillnet is organising an ‘Employment Law Masterclass’, including a practical guide to new developments.

The all-day event will take place on 30 September at the Presidents’ Hall in the Law Society at Blackhall Place, Dublin.

The fee of €255 includes e-materials and light lunch. Attendance will yield six hours of CPD points.

The masterclass will examine the many developments in employment law since the start of the pandemic.

Topics

Topics and issues will include:

  • A practical guide to presenting cases in the Labour Court,
  • A practical guide to remote and flexible working,
  • A practical guide to cases involving harassment and sexual harassment in the workplace,
  • Zalewski v Adjudication Office & Others [2021] IESC 24 – practical implications for cases in the WRC and Labour Court,
  • Protected disclosures: new challenges in employment-law practice.

Chair for the day is Ms Justice Marguerite Bolger, while the speakers will include: 

  • Claire Bruton BL,
  • Richard Grogan (Richard Grogan & Associates, Dublin),
  • Caroline Jenkinson, (former deputy chair at the Labour Court),
  • Rosemary Mallon BL, and
  • Des Ryan BL.

In-person event

Additional speakers have yet to be confirmed. This is a live in-person event, and will not be available online or as a recording. 

Materials will be emailed to delegates in advance – there will be no printed materials.
