Lawyer wins in writing contest run by IBA

Irish global arbitration lawyer John Gaffney has been selected as joint winner in a writing competition run by the IBA.

The IBA Arb40 Common Heritage of International Arbitration competition for the most meaningful personal stories attracted a large entry from 16 countries across six continents.

Joint winner

The jury selected Gaffney’s story as the joint winner of the ‘how it all started’ category impressing the judges with its account of the sacrifices and rewards that face those dedicated to their profession.

For this outstanding contribution, a student nominee of Gaffney’s choosing will enjoy a one-year subscription to Jus Mundi Legal Research.

The story has also been included in a special compendium, on the IBA’s website.
