Future of Legal Practice conference at Blackhall

A ‘Future of Legal Practice’ summit will be held this week for Blackhall trainees, as part of the ‘Law as business – managing a legal practice’ module.

Trainees will self-select the presentations they wish to attend across a number of streams.

This interactive legal education conference-style event, on 11 and 12 January, will bring together current and future-focused legal knowledge, innovation and technology trends, offering PPC trainees thought-provoking insights on the future of the profession.

Pitch

The assessment involves collaborative groups creating an ‘elevator pitch’ from ideas generated at the summit.

The four streams will include legal technology, the future of legal practice, future practice/better practice, and tech in practice.

Guest lecturers will include:

  • Larry Fenelon SC (partner, Ogier Leman),
  • Rose Wall (CLM),
  • Roisin Magee (solicitor, Dept of Agriculture),
  • Deirdre McDermott (Phoenix Towers International),
  • Eimear Kenny (general counsel, AXA Life Europe),
  • Ann Shiels (founder, FinLexSus),
  • Maeve Delargy (senior associate, Philip Lee),
  • Flor McCarthy (managing partner, McCarthy & Co),
  • Angela Denning (chief executive, Courts Service, small picture).

The streams will include legal technology, the future of legal practice, future practice/better practice, and tech in practice.
