Maples Group sponsors MoLI links with schools

Maples Group is backing a student learning programme run by the Museum of Literature Ireland, which is situated on Dublin’s St Stephen’s Green.

Under the partnership, the law firm will become the main sponsor of MoLI's 'Shut Your Eyes and See!' programme, which support teachers with curricular art strands, literacy, and the personal and creative development of students.

'Shut Your Eyes and See!' was originally launched in September 2019 for primary-school children.

With the backing of the law firm, the programme will now expand to secondary-level schools across Ireland.

Learning centre

MoLI opened in 2019 and celebrates Ireland's unrivalled literary pedigree and its international influence. It already hosts local DEIS and special-educational-needs schools in its state-of-the-art learning centre.

Ireland managing partner Peter Stapleton said: "The Maples Group is extremely proud to partner with MoLI as part of our exciting CSR programme.

“As Ireland's largest international law firm and a significant employer of graduates, we recognise the importance of supporting and encouraging innovation among students at all levels. MoLI's innovative approach to showcasing the best of Irish literary works and its commitment to developing unique learning experiences is to be highly commended."

MoLI director Simon O'Connor said that, since opening, the museum has particularly placed young people and access at the heart of its work.

“With the support and input of our neighbours in the Maples Group, we are excited to further expand the ambition, reach and efficacy of the ‘Shut Your Eyes and See!’ programme," he said.
