MLRC seminar on mental health and homelessness

Mercy Law Resource Centre (MLRC) is hosting a conference on mental health, social-housing supports, and homelessness on 16 February, from 9.30am to1pm, at the Dublin Dispute Resolution Centre, 145-151 Church Street, Dublin 7.

This multi-disciplinary conference will see legal experts, social-work professionals, and academic voices discuss issues facing people with mental-health difficulties when accessing social-housing supports.

The event will incorporate the launch of a new report by MLRC entitled ‘Mental Health and Social Housing Supports’.

The report is on the experiences of people with mental-health difficulties who have faced challenges in accessing suitable social-housing supports or emergency homeless services.

It also examines the experiences of frontline workers supporting them, and frames these experiences in the policy and legal context.

Dialogue

The aim of the report and the conference is to produce practical proposals for change, and to spark a dialogue with key stakeholders.

For free registration, email events@mercylaw.ie.

The project is supported by Mental Health Grants Scheme 2022.
