The advisory committee consists of:

  • The Chief Justice,
  • The President of the Court of Appeal,
  • The President of the High Court,
  • The Attorney General,
  • The Chair of the Bar Council,
  • The President of the Law Society, and
  • A lay member of the Legal Services Regulatory Authority nominated by the Minister for Justice.

The Law Society of Ireland offered its congratulations to the three solicitors.

President Maura Derivan said “We are delighted to congratulate our three solicitor colleagues granted Patents of Precedence this year, including Past President of the Law Society Michele O’Boyle.”

“Each solicitor granted the Patents of Precedence has achieved, and demonstrated, the necessary experience, skills and legal expertise to become senior counsel.

“Solicitors are at the front line of our justice system, assisting clients, working to improve access to justice and to ensure effective administration of justice, for the betterment of society and in the public interest.

“Congratulations to our newly-appointed senior counsel colleagues. I trust your achievements and leadership will inspire future leaders and increased representation of solicitors among senior counsel in future years.”

These three solicitors join a growing cohort of solicitors who have been granted the Patents of Precedence since 2020.
