ISEL hosts annual Brian Walsh Memorial Lecture

Leading human-rights lawyer Caoilfhionn Gallagher KC (pictured) is to deliver the annual Brian Walsh Memorial Lecture.

The lecture takes place on Thursday 23 November (6pm) in the Dublin Dispute Resolution Centre, Distillery Building, 145-151 Church Street, Dublin 7.

The event is being hosted by the Irish Society for European Law (ISEL).

Rights protection

Gallagher is the Special Rapporteur on Child Protection and Adjunct Full Professor at UCD.

Her lecture is entitled ‘Rights Protection Across New Frontiers: Extraterritoriality and the Council of Europe’.

The lecture series has for over 20 years honoured the late judge Brian Walsh, who made a lasting impact on Irish society during a distinguished career in the European Court of Human Rights and the Supreme Court.

Registration is required for this in-person event.

The lecture will start after the ISEL’s annual general meeting at the same venue (5.30pm).
