AG among speakers at litigation event

Law Society Skillnet holding its annual conference on litigation next week, in collaboration with the Law Society’s Litigation Committee.

The event will be held on Wednesday 25 October in the Green Hall in Blackhall Place (2pm to 5.30pm).

It aims to provide litigators with a practical overview of litigation developments.

Topics range from State litigation principles to the importance of expert evidence.

President of the Law Society Maura Derivan will welcome practitioners to the event, which is worth 3.5 CPD hours.

Topics and speakers

Topics include:

  • State litigation principles,
  • Collective redress,
  • The fundamental importance of expert evidence and the expert’s primary duty,
  • Litigation funding,
  • Wellbeing in practice,
  • A day late and a dollar short: time limits in planning cases.

The conference will be chaired by Áine Hynes SC (St John Solicitors), who has been a member of the Council of the Law Society and is currently chair of the Law Society Mental Health Law and Capacity Taskforce.

  • Joe O’Malley (managing partner, Hayes Solicitors),
