Jobless rate for men stood at 4.3% in August

In August the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.3% for males from the July rate, and up from 4.1% in August 2022, monthly CSO statistics show.

The rate for females was unchanged in July at 3.9%, down from a rate of 4.6% in August 2022.

Revised

The youth unemployment rate was up to 11.2% for 15-24-year-olds from a revised rate of 10.8% in July.

The seasonally adjusted number of people unemployed was 111,500 in August, compared with 112,200 in July 2023.

There was a decrease of 4,100 in the seasonally adjusted number of people unemployed in August when compared with a year earlier.
