Warm tributes paid to late Cairbre Finan Senior

Warm tributes were paid to Naas, Co Kildare solicitor Cairbre Finan Senior, who died recently (17 September).

He was born in Castlerea, Co Roscommon, into a family which valued hard work and academic achievement, his son Peter said at his funeral Mass at the Church of Our Lady and St David, Naas.

He died following a short illness, at the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin and is mourned by his loving wife Mary (Moll), children Peter, Cairbre Óg, Conor and Orlaith, and their families, and a wide circle of friends and relations.

The late solicitor began work at Wilkinson & Price in Naas in 1970, having qualified at the exceptionally young age of 20, and was to practise there for 50 years.

Sense of duty

He was noted for his sense of duty, hard work, and intelligence and saw clients remain with him loyally over those fifty-plus years.

“He was someone you went to when you wanted to ask ‘what should I do’,” his son Peter said at his funeral Mass.

He was never known to complain and always remained calm and collected, he added.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam.
