Class-action shake-up to ‘reshape corporate risk’

Mason Hayes & Curran will host its inaugural Dispute Resolution Conference on 12 September at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin 2.

Attorney General Rossa Fanning SC will deliver the keynote address.

The event arrives as Ireland prepares for a significant shift in its legal framework with the introduction of class actions. This development could significantly reshape Ireland’s corporate risk and liability landscape.

The conference will also spotlight the growing role of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods in modern conflict management.

These approaches can offer more efficient, cost-effective solutions for the stakeholders involved.

Manage risk

Gerard Kelly (MHC dispute resolution partner) said: “The Irish legal landscape is undergoing a transformation that will significantly impact how businesses manage risk and resolve disputes.

“This conference will equip business leaders and in-house legal teams with crucial insights to navigate these changes, and shape the future of dispute resolution in Ireland.”

The event will convene Ireland's top legal and industry leaders to explore the changing dynamics of dispute resolution.

Panellists will include:

  • Kelley Smith SC,
  • Andrew Fitzpatrick SC, and
  • Experts from the Irish Aviation Authority, Squarespace, Permanent TSB, and Fountain Court Chambers.
