New York to host Ireland for Law mission

Ireland for Law, the initiative set up to help promote Irish law and legal services among the international business community, has organised its latest mission, which will be in New York next month.

Events around the city will take place from Tuesday 3 September to Thursday 5 September.

Minister of State James Browne, David Barniville (President of the High Court), and Rossa Fanning SC (Attorney General) will be joined by several senior legal practitioners.

Co-operation

The events will focus on the following topics:

  • Ireland’s Commercial Court – the case for US/Irish co-operation,
  • Significant legal changes and precedents In Ireland and New York (in association with Arbitration Ireland),
  • Corporate restructuring and corporate insolvency – the case for US/Irish co-operation, and
  • Financial services and structured-finance transactions – Ireland as a partner for US business.
