Marian Price starts legal action against Disney

Lawyers for Marian Price say that she has begun formal legal proceedings against Disney for its streaming service’s series Say Nothing.

Say Nothing is a 2024 historical drama series published by Disney's US streaming service Disney+.

It is premised upon the 2018 book of the same name, published by Patrick Radden Keefe.

Price’s lawyers said that the series depicted her as the person responsible for murdering Belfast woman Jean McConville in 1972.

Allegations ‘odious’

Her solicitor Peter Corrigan of Phoenix Law said: “Given the context, it is difficult to envisage a more egregious allegation than the one to which has been levelled against our client."

“It is clear that the instant allegation is not based on a single iota of evidence," he added.

“Such allegations published on an international scale are not only unjustified, but they are odious insofar as they seek to cause our client immeasurable harm in exchange for greater streaming success,” Corrigan concluded.
