Environmental moot-court prize for Blackhall team

The Law Society team came out on top at the finals of the Ireland/UK round of the International Environmental Moot Court Competition, hosted by the Law Society on Saturday (3 February).

The team won both rounds against trainee solicitors from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies Belfast.

The Law Society was represented by Ben Doyle (Matheson), Andrew Murphy (Arthur Cox), and Alex Griffin (A&L Goodbody), with TP Kennedy (Director of Education) as coach.

The team took the prize for the best written argument, while Ben Doyle was named as the best speaker.

Meanwhile, Robert Dinan and Calem Martin of the Solicitors’ Apprentice Debating Society (SADSI) represented the Law Society at the semi-final of The Irish Times’ third-level debating competition on Friday (2 February).

Students from Trinity College and King’s Inns secured places in the final.
