Browne Jacobson names new Dublin partner
Law firm Browne Jacobson has appointed William Darmody as partner and head of the firm’s Irish corporate team.
The firm, which operates in Britain and Ireland, says that the appointment comes at a time of “significant growth” for its Dublin office.
Darmody (small picture) has extensive experience in company law, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, venture capital, and private-equity investments.
Browne Jacobson says that he will be advising many growing companies and innovation-driven businesses on legal issues linked to scaling, fund-raising, corporate governance, and exits.
‘Exciting milestone’
Since opening in July 2022, the firm’s Irish office has relocated to a larger office at 2 Hume Street, Dublin, in order to meet the needs of the growing team and client base.
Before joining Browne Jacobson, Darmody worked for international law firm Maples Group for over eight years.
Ciarán Markey (Browne Jacobson Ireland co-founder) described the appointment as “an exciting milestone” in the firm’s Irish growth over the past 18 months.
“In that time, we’ve tripled in size, we’ve moved to a larger premises, and gained two additional partners, along with several associates and trainees,” he said.
