Jane O’Grady to be new LK Shields partner
LK Shields has promoted Jane O’Grady to become a partner in the firm, saying that she will play a key role in a rebranded technology-and-innovation team.
O’Grady (pictured) rejoined LK Shields in 2018 as an associate in the team covering intellectual property, technology and data privacy.
The firm says that she has extensive experience acting for businesses on complex contracts – including cross-border agreements.
Her work covers drafting and negotiating outsourcing agreements, software licences, service-level agreements, website and app terms of use, and end-user licence agreements.
O’Grady also regularly advises clients on protection, commercialisation, infringement of intellectual property, and all aspects of privacy law.
‘Legal acumen’
Richard Curran (managing partner) praised O’Grady for her “exceptional legal acumen and commitment to client service”.
He added that the rebrand of the team reflected the firm’s commitment to remaining “at the vanguard of legal innovation and being agile in responding to our clients’ needs”.
“The technology-and-innovation team will continue to provide first-rate intellectual-property and data-privacy support as part of a broader offering that reflects the evolution of the Irish economy in recent years,” he concluded.
LK Shields employs more than 130 people, and has offices in Dublin and Galway.
