Eversheds Sutherland names new employment head

Eversheds Sutherland LLP has announced that employment partner Julie Galbraith is to head up the firm’s Irish employment practice.

Galbraith takes over from Joanne Hyde, who has led the practice since 2010.

Eversheds Sutherland says that Hyde, along with the firm’s other employment partners, will continue to support Galbraith in the role.

Chair of ELAI

Galbraith has also been appointed as the new chair of the Employment Law Association of Ireland (ELAI), succeeding the outgoing chair, Linda Hynes.

In her ELAI role, she will liaise with agencies such as the Labour Court, the Workplace Relations Commission, and international employment-law associations.

Galbraith, who joined Eversheds Sutherland as a trainee solicitor in 2010, advises Irish and international businesses on all aspects of the employment relationship, from recruitment to termination.

Alan Connell (managing partner, Eversheds Sutherland LLP) said that the new employment head had made “a significant contribution” to the firm over the years, and praised her “professionalism, dedication, and ambition”.
