New head of debt finance at McCann FitzGerald

Law firm McCann FitzGerald LLP has appointed Stuart McCarron as the new head of its debt-finance group.

He succeeds Niall Powderly, who had previously led the group, but has now retired.

The firm says that, in his new role, McCarron will focus on the continued expansion of the group, in line with the pace of change within the debt-finance world.

McCarron, who is a partner with the firm, has more than 20 years of experience in financing transactions across a range of industries.

‘Perfect fit’

His clients include domestic and international financial institutions and direct lenders, and he also advises private-equity funds, PLCs (public limited companies), regulated funds, and large companies.

Stephen Holst (managing partner, McCann FitzGerald LLP) said that McCarron’s extensive experience, fresh perspectives, and leadership made him “the perfect fit” to guide the debt-finance group.

McCann FitzGerald comprises 88 partners and employs more than 450 lawyers and professional staff.
