DPP to host national prosecutors’ conference

The 25th annual national prosecutors’ conference will take place at Dublin Castle this Saturday, 30 November.

Hosted by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), over 300 delegates will attend – including representatives from the DPP,  the State Solicitor Service, the Bar, An Garda Síochána, and others involved in the criminal-justice system. 

Speakers include Tricia Harkin, national member for Ireland at Eurojust, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation.

Bernard Condon SC, who practises primarily in criminal law will also speak, as will Chief Superintendent Derek Smart  (Limerick).

Crime

Ms Justice Caroline Biggs of the High Court, who specialised in crime as an SC, will also attend, as will Detective Chief Superintendent Colm Noonan, head of the Garda National Protective Services Bureau (GNPSB).

Aoife O'Leary BL (chair of the Criminal State Bar Committee of the Bar of Ireland) will also speak, as will Noreen Landers, Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Office of the DPP,  and current head of the Serious and Sexual Offences Unit.
