Business-law event to focus on ESG reporting

Law Society Professional Training is holding its annual conference on business law in Blackhall Place later this month. 

The in-person event, being held in collaboration with the Law Society’s Business Law Committee, takes place on Wednesday 13 November (2pm-5.15pm). 

Three CPD hours by group study are available from the event, which is open for registration

‘Alphabet soup’ 

Entitled ‘How to create a clear narrative out of 'alphabet soup'?’, this year’s focus is on ESG (environmental, social, and governance) sustainability reporting and due diligence. 

The conference will explore the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and how reporting and compliance will operate in practice.  

Expert speakers in the field will demystify the changing landscape and provide practical insights.  

The programme will include a panel discussion on the potential impact of the directives in different sectors of the SME economy.  

Eleanor Daly (director and associate general counsel global corporate, Meta), who is also chair of the Business Law Committee, will chair the conference.

  • Paul White (partner, A&L Goodbody),
  • Darragh Byrne (chief risk officer and general counsel, DCC plc),

  • Dr Kara McGann (head of skills and social policy, IBEC).
