Courts body plans an ISL interpreter panel

The Courts Service is seeking tenders from Irish Sign Language (ISL) interpreters who are registered on the Register of Irish Sign Language Interpreters (RISLI).

It has issued an invitation to participate in an authorisation scheme for the provision of an ISL interpretation service to the courts, which is now live on the online eTenders platform.

The courts body is planning to set up a panel of ISL interpreters who can provide a high-quality interpretation service.

Deadlines

This service could be used by any individual practising barrister or solicitor who required it in conducting their function before the court, or by any person competent in ISL appearing in or giving evidence before the court who could not hear or understand English or Irish.

The deadline for queries about the tender is 15 November (3pm), while the deadline for responses to the tender is 25 November (3pm).

The Courts Service will also run a remote briefing session on 8 November on the use of eTenders.
