William Fry wins Irish patent firm of year

Irish law firms William Fry LLP and Mason Hayes & Curran have both taken home prizes at the Global IP Awards 2024.

The awards ceremony, at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London last night (17 October), brought together leading lP law firms and practitioners from around the world.

William Fry won the 'Irish Patent Litigation Firm of the Year' award, while MHC was named 'Irish Trademark Firm of the Year'.

William Fry was honoured for its strong market reputation and successful track record in handling complex patent-litigation cases.

Laura Scott (William Fry co-head of IP litigation) said: "We are incredibly proud to receive this award in recognition of the hard work and dedication of our talented team.”

Managing partner Owen O'Sullivan said: "This award further solidifies our position as leaders in intellectual- property law and as the preferred corporate- law firm in the Irish market."

MHC’s head of IP Gerard Kelly said that the award highlighted its “pre-eminent position in the Irish market” for supporting clients on trademark work.
