ByrneWallace LP names four new partners

Law firm ByrneWallace LLP has appointed four new partners across four of its practices – employment law, tax, banking and finance, and health and social care.

The four new partners are:

  • Suzanne Keenan (employment law),
  • Andrew Feighery (tax),
  • Karen Outram (banking and finance), and
  • Louise McDarby (health and social care).

Keenan, who is joining the firm, has practised employment law in Northern Ireland for 12 years. She advises on the full spectrum of employment matters and has a strong background in litigation.

Revenue interventions

Feighery, who joins ByrneWallace as head of tax compliance, has expertise advising on Revenue interventions, and specialises in strategic tax planning in all tax areas.

Before joining the firm, he held the position of Tax Appeals Commissioner. Feighery is a qualified barrister in Ireland, Britain, and Northern Ireland, and practised at the Bar of Ireland from 2014 to 2022.

Newly promoted banking-and-finance partner Karen Outram joined ByrneWallace LLP a decade ago, and has extensive experience advising a variety of domestic and international financial institutions, credit servicers, public bodies, and investment funds.

She has a particular focus on green and sustainable finance and renewable-energy finance.

Child-care law

McDarby has over 16 years’ experience advising in child-care law, at District, Circuit, and High Court level.

She advises the Child and Family Agency in respect of its statutory obligations under the Child Care Act 1991, and has also acted for respondent parents and guardians ad litem in child care proceedings.

ByrneWallace’s managing partner Feargal Brennan said that the appointments reflected the firm’s continued growth.

“2024 has been another busy year for all our practice areas, with particularly strong demand for advice in employment law, tax, banking and finance, and health and social care,” he stated.
