Event to discuss EU’s nature-restoration law

An event taking place next month will bring solicitors and barristers together to discuss a new EU law on nature restoration.

The event is being organised by the Law Society’s Environmental and Planning Law Committee and the Planning, Environmental and Local Government Bar Association (PELGBA).

It will take place on Tuesday 8 October (4.30pm to 6pm) in the Gaffney Room, Distillery Building, Dublin. It will also be available to join online.

1.5 CPD points are available from the event, and booking is now open.

Topics and speakers

The topics to be covered are:

  • An Introduction to the EU Nature Restoration Law,
  • How the new law is implemented in practice, and
  • An update on the emerging legal issues on biodiversity.

The speakers are:

  • Stephen Dodd SC (chair, PELGBA),
  • Rachel Minch SC (chair, Law Society Environmental and Planning Law Committee,
  • Mema Byrne BL, and
  • David Jenner (National Parks and Wildlife Service, international and EU affairs directorate).
