In-house solicitors to focus on leadership

The Annual In-house and Public Sector Conference will take place next week (2 October) in Blackhall Place.

Presented by the Law Society’s In-house and Public Sector Committee, the event is aimed at solicitors employed in-house in the private and public sectors.

The conference runs from 9.30am to 1.15pm and is worth 3.5 CPD hours (professional development and solicitor wellbeing).

Leading in-house teams

This year’s event will explore the roles of lawyers in business and management and the art of leading in-house teams in top-tier public-sector and private-sector organisations.

Expert panel members will share their personal observations and insights on career development and leadership based on their diverse experience.

Dr Des Hogan (Data Protection Commissioner) will deliver the keynote speech on ‘Lawyers in Leadership’.

Speakers

There will also be a panel discussion on lawyers in business and management roles, as well as a fireside chat on leading in-house teams.

Alison Bradshaw (head of credit legal services, AIB) will chair the conference.

  • Caroline Dee-Brown (director of legal services and general counsel, ComReg),
  • Mark Cockerill (senior VP, legal – corporate, M&A and international development, ServiceNow),
  • Ruth McCarthy (chief executive corporate payments, Fexco),
  • Maria Browne (Chief State Solicitor),
  • Marion Berry (Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions),
  • Helen Dooley (group general counsel, AIB), and
  • Eleanor Daly (director and associate general counsel global corporate, Meta).
