Webinar on managing client expectations

Law Society Professional Training is holding a live webinar on managing client expectations later this month.

The Zoom event will take place on Wednesday 25 September (1pm to 2pm).

It is worth one CPD hour (client care and professional standards by e-learning).

The webinar, the second in the series, aims to provide practical tips and tools for client interactions, clear communications, and avoiding or mitigating potential issues.

At the end of this webinar participants will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of managing client expectations,
  • Use tips and guidance provided to ensure clear communications,
  • Recognise the optimal time and approach to engage about client needs, expectations, and timelines,
  • Empathise with the client’s perspective,
  • Appreciate the different areas where client expectations may need to be managed, and
  • Identify areas within their current approach to client care that might be improved.

Speaker

Participants will hear from Eamonn Maguire (Law Society Regulatory Communications Manager), who has held several roles in the Law Society over many years.

He was previously responsible for regulating solicitors’ advertising, and was secretary to the advertising sub-division of the Regulation of Practice Committee. After this, he headed the organisation’s complaints and compliance section.

In his current role, he is focused on improving the way the Law Society supports and guides solicitors in meeting their regulatory obligations. Maguire is also secretary to the Guidance and Ethics Committee.
